Coffee Bean Coffee Locations

coffee bean coffee locations
national massage therapist or coffee bean manager?

im trying to study in massage therapy and get my license but at the same time i’ve got a offer to be a manager at one of the coffee bean location near my house and i know if i accept that position im gonna be so busy i don’t even have time to pursue as a massage therapist. so here’s my question if you were in my positon what would you do and why???????

thank you.

You’re wise to know your limits. Trying to achieve both will probably result in you getting burned out, and you may end up doing a poor job as a manager and in your massage training–and possibly fail in both.

To answer which one you should pursue, I’d have to know why you were offered the management position. If you have a lot of management experience, then that isn’t something that’s going to evaporate. Other similar jobs will be available for you later on, and if massage is what you want to do, I’d apply yourself to that.

If you’re being offered the job because you know someone in the company or you’ve made a positive impression that wasn’t due to work experience, taking the job may be the most prudent thing to do. There WILL be other jobs, but they may only present themselves here and there. Massage school is something that will wait for you, and it’ll always be an option.

If you think you can handle it, you can take the job and study massage therapy on the weekends. This is a longer road to take, but you earn valuable management experience (and money!) while you do it. Who knows, you may make a lot of contacts that will become eventual clients at your job! Just be mindful not to overexert yourself. You can always take a break from school, or resign your position later if things get too stressful.
